We are pleased to offer this print of the Bladder Hibiscus Flower (Hibiscus Trionum) from the Curtis Botanical Magazine first published by William Curtis beginning in 1787. This engraving is Plate #209, dated November 1, 1792, engraved by F. Sansom. Mr. Curtis was a trained pharmacist living in London, whose greater interest was the study of flora and insects. He maintained a large garden where he grew beautiful exotic plants.
