Hand colored antique botanical engraving from England in
excellent condition.
We are pleased to offer this print of the Schizanthus retususcifolia dated 1834 from Sir Joseph Paxton's Magazine of Botany and Register of Flowering Plants. The
complete set was published in 16 volumes starting in 1834 and running until 1849.
Paxton was a noted English landscape gardener and architect of the
Crystal Palace for the Great Exhibition of 1851 in London. Paxton's prints are highly prized for their
brilliant colors and beauty.
Highly collectible, and increasingly hard-to-find in this condition; this botanical engraving still
has the original vivid coloration. Guaranteed authentic 166 year-old engraving.
