Ladybugs are an important and useful part of any garden. Their voracious appetite for aphids means that they are natural bio-control agents for these pests.
This ladybug house will encourage ladybugs to stay in your garden. It provides a safe roosting place during those cold and sometimes frosty nights in early spring. Ladybugs also need a safe place in which to spend the winter in hibernation.
Lacewings will also use this ladybug house. They, too, are predators of aphids. Their equally predaceous and useful larve will use it as a safe place in which to spin a silk cocoon and pupate.
Made of environmentally friendly plastic with a special honeycomb type structure of insulating material, this shelter is an ideal way of making your garden, vegetable patch, farm or orchard more attractive to ladybugs, the gardener's friend.
If you are one of the "lucky" people who have overwintering Asian Ladybugs in your home, this will help you too. The Asian Ladybug is not a native ladybug and can be considered a "pest" because of its habit of selecting human habitats as their own and will infiltrate by the thousands. Encourage these often unwelcome guests to leave your home for a more appropriate home of its own.
