Ecofauna was created in 1996 in Pisa (Tuscany, Italy) by Dr. Lorenzo Possenti (Sculptor with Natural Sciences degree). Dr. Possenti, for years, has studied microbes and insects under a microscope. He used this method and his knowledge along with his great attention to detail to create extremely detailed insect and other invertebrate replicas. He created his own exclusive resin formula which allows intricate detail in his art work and has created the most amazingly realistic 20x scale replicas possible. His insect replicas are currently exhibited in museums in Asia and Europe. All animals are created mainly for museum, zoos, butterfly houses and aquarium displays and exhibits. They can also be used for movies, t.v. commercials, print advertisements, photo shoots, pest control "decor", tradeshows and even "home decor" for the avid entomologist. Ecofauna's models are manufactured as complete sets. Each model features up to 120 joints which are locked into the desired position prior to sale.
